WHY PALESTINE??
1. It is referred to in the Holy Quran 70X
2. The area has been 'blessed' by God for all His creation.
3. Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, is believed to be the second house of God to built soon after the Ka'abah in Makkah.
4. There are many ahadiths (saying of Prophet Muhammad pbuh) which exalt and sanctify Jerusalem.
5. The reward of praying in the mosque of Al Aqsa is 500X greater than in other mosques, apart from the Haram Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.
6. It was from the precints of Al Aqsa in Jerusalem that the Prophet made the miraculous journey of al mi'raj (ascension to heaven)
7. Muslims originally faced towards Jerusalem during the prayers while in Makkah (before the Prophet migrated to Madinah) and for 16-17 months in Madinah.
8. Muslims are advised to make a journey for the sole purpose of performing salah (prayer) in Al Aqsa.
9. Giving a gift of oil to be burnt in the blessed mosque of Al Aqsa in Jerusalem is equivalent to the reward of performing salah (prayer) there.
